Brick Stitch (Vertical Method):
Bring the needle up at A, go up 2 threads and down at B. Move over 2 threads, go down 2 threads (staying even with your first stitch) and bring the needle up at C. Go up 2 threads, bring the needle down at D. Move over 2 threads, go down 2 threads (again staying even with your previous stitches) and bring the needle up at E. Go up 2 threads and bring the needle down at F. Continue in this manner through G,H, I and J. Once you have brought the needle down through J, you have completed this row.
To start the second row, we begin where we left off at J. The second row will be worked from left to right. From J, move over 1 thread, down 3 threads (1 thread below your first row) and bring the needle up at K. Go up 2 threads, bring the needle down at L. Move over 2 threads, down 2 threads and bring the needle up at M. Go up 2 threads, bring the needle down at N. Continue in this manner until the end of the row.
A third row (not pictured) will be worked right to left. A fourth row would be worked left to right. And so on.......
