Bring the needle up at A, move to the left over four canvas threads, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up over two canvas threads, bring the needle down at D. This diagram illustrates how this stitch should look when complete. This is actually two rows of the diagonal fishbone stitch. Row one consists of a vertical and horizonal row. Row two consists of another vertical and horizontal row. Like the regular fishbone stitch, the diagonal fishbone stitch creates an exciting pattern.
