Mosaic Stitch (Diagonal Method) - Diagram 1
Mosaic Stitch - Diagonal Method (Diagram 1):
Bring the needle up at A, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at F.  This completes the first Mosaic Stitch.
Now, bring the needle up G (notice that we have skipped a space here - you will see why in the next diagram), move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at H. Bring the needle up at I, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at J. Bring the needle up at K, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at L. This completes the second Mosaic Stitch.
Now, bring the needle up at M, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at N. Bring the needle up at O, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at P. Bring the needle up at Q, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at R. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...
Mosaic Stitch (Diagonal Method) - Diagram 2
Mosaic Stitch - Diagonal Method (Diagram 2):
In order to make this demonstration easier to follow, the first row is shown in light blue and the second row is shown in dark blue. Beginning where we left off at the end of the first row, we will work the second row from bottom to top. This completes the first Mosaic Stitch of the second row.
As you can see from Diagram 2, the second row of stitches is worked into the first row of stitches. This is where we fill in the empty spaces that were skipped in the first row.
Now, bring the needle up at G, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at H. Bring the needle up at I, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at J. Bring the needle up at K, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at L. This completes the second row of Mosaic Stitches.
Diagram 3 will show three rows of Mosaic Stitches...
