Mosaic Stitch - Horizontal Method (Diagram 1):
Bring the needle up at A, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at F. This completes the first Mosaic Stitch.
Now, bring the needle up at G, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at E. Bring the needle up at H, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at I. Bring the needle up at J, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at K. This completes the second Mosaic Stitch.
Now, bring the needle up at L, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at J. Bring the needle up at M, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at N. Bring the needle up at O, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at P. This completes the first row of Mosaic Stitches. Now, continue on to Diagram 2...

To work the next row, you may choose one of two methods:
You may turn the canvas around and work the second row into the previous row exactly as you worked the first one.
Alternately, you may work the second row from left to right without turning the canvas around.
