Oriental Stitch (Diagram 2):
The second row will be worked from bottom to top. Bring the needle up at A, move up and to the right over four canvas intersections, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needel up at C, move up and to the right over three canvas intersections, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E. move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at F. Bring the needle up at G, move up and to the right over one canvas intersection, bring the needle down at H. Continue in this manner until the end of the row. Then, continue on to Diagram 3...

Oriental Stitch (Diagram 3):
The Diagonal Stitches will alternate between top to bottom and bottom to top. The dark blue lines represent the Diagonal Stitches we are about to work. Bring the needle up at A, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at B. Bring the needle up at C, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at D. Bring the needle up at E, move up and to the right over two canvas intersections, bring the needle down at F. Continue working in this manner until the row is complete.
