Parisian Stitch:
This stitch is great for filling large areas of canvas. Basically, it consists of 1 long stitch alternating with 1 short stitch.  It is worked horizontally and is best when worked on single canvas.

Bring the needle up at A, move up 6 threads and down at B. Move the needle down 4 threads and bring the needle up at C. Move up 2 threads and bring the needle down at D. Move the needle down 4 threads and bring the needle up at E. Move up 6 threads and bring the needle down at F. Continue in this manner until you reach the end of the row. Work the next row from right to left, ending each stitch in the space of the previous row. (Example: the first stitch of the next row would end at K.)
