ALTERNATING SCOTCH STITCH
The Alternating Scotch Stitch is basically just a series of regular scotch stitches
worked in opposite (alternating) directions. This is where the name comes from. This stitch is worked horizontally. For a more interesting look, try using different colors. Other variations of the scotch stitch include the condensed scotch stitch, the crossed scotch stitch and the woven scotch stitch. Three diagrams have been used to demonstrate this stitch. Clicking on the PRINTABLE VERSION icon, located at the end of the series of diagrams, will direct you to the page to print these instructions.
